Criminal Law and Personal Injury Attorney Anand Desai
After graduating from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, my only goal was to be an attorney for the community and fight for the rights of the disenfranchised citizens of Los Angeles. I joined the Los Angeles County Public Defender’s office with the sole purpose to provide criminal defense representation for the indigent. Recognizing the inequities in our justice system, I developed a passion for advocating for those that were charged with crimes in Los Angeles, but did not have the money for representation.
During my 13 year tenure at the Los Angeles County Public Defender’s Office I represented over 5,000 individuals who were charged with various misdemeanor and felony offenses. I represented individuals charged with Driving under the Influence of Alcohol or Drugs, as well as those charged with Homicide, and everything in between.
It’s important to have a lawyer on your side who is dedicated to helping people. Other attorneys might say the same thing, but few attorneys can say that they committed the vast majority of their career representing indigent citizens charged with criminal offenses. Even fewer attorneys can say that they have a track record of trying over 50 jury trials, and prevailed in most of them. When searching for legal representation, ask prospective attorneys how many jury trial they have actually conducted. I pride myself on the fact that I have an extensive background in conducting jury trials, including trying a Murder in the first degree case.
Now that I have my own firm in Los Angeles, I continue to fight for those accused of crimes as well as helping my community stand up to insurance companies, deep-pocketed corporations, and other adversaries after tragic accidents.
